Roles of Agricultural Cooperatives (ACs) in Drought Risk Management among Smallholder Farmers in Pursat and Kampong Speu Provinces, Cambodia

This research aims to investigate the roles of agricultural cooperatives (ACs) in provinces Pursat and Kampong Speu, Cambodia, with respect managing drought risks among smallholder farmers, particular focus on following factors: (a) impacts socio-economic development livelihood; (b) services delivered by AC operations terms increasing five livelihood assets; (c) interactions between operations, adaptive capacity, drought. Household surveys were conducted 421 farmers; addition, case studies also stakeholders Bakan district Province Barsedth Speu Province. The study demonstrates that (i) both climatic human-made factors contributed toward impact districts. Furthermore, this hazard affected farmers. (ii) increased farmers’ access natural physical assets. Currently, are constrained a lack willingness commitment committees, trust building communities, human financial resources after projects, which implemented non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
